Do you believe in delivering the highest quality Technology Training to help keep the communities of Gloucestershire safe from harm?

Do you have a passion for ensuring IT and digital systems are trained to the highest standards?

As part of the Government’s ‘Beating Crime Plan’, our new Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) is prioritising the recruitment of additional personnel into Gloucestershire Constabulary. Our vision is to continue to build a workforce that is strong, confident and accountable and reflective of the communities we serve. In addition, we are striving to improve digital policing to support communication with the public and criminal justice agencies with better use of digital intelligence.

Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Learning and Development department delivers L&D solutions to equip our officers and staff with the required levels of knowledge and learning throughout their careers to keep the communities of Gloucestershire safe from harm. Situated at The Sabrina Centre in Berkeley, we deliver world class training in our state of the art facility, to our existing workforce and those joining us for the first time.

We are seeking to recruit two new IT Trainers into the department. The new recruits will assist in the designing, delivering and evaluating of IT and Technology training. They will be innovative and responsive to blended learning to enhance technology and digital learning for modern day policing. These skills will complement our strategic objectives of ‘Making our Communities Safer’, ‘High Professional Standards’, and ‘People being our greatest asset’.

The successful candidates will interact with Student Officers as part of the Police Education Qualification Framework, new starters into the organisation, as well as specific CPD for staff members. The post will also require the applicant to work closely with the various Project Leads for the development of core systems.

The candidates should have a training qualification, however, this is not essential if they have had previous training experience. Furthermore, we would expect the candidate to work towards and attain a level 4 qualification in Education & Training, whilst in post.

It is recognised the successful applicant may not have experience with police systems, however, they will receive the necessary training, upskilling and support to ensure they will be able to perform the role to the best of their ability.

The role is full-time (37 hours per week) but part-time applicants will be considered. You may be required to work occasional evening or weekends to support colleagues and to operate from anywhere within our area on occasions.

Applicants must qualify for residency in the UK and must successfully pass vetting to police basic check level.

In return, we offer an excellent working environment as part of an enthusiastic, forward thinking team committed to supporting our staff and nurturing personal development.

Therefore, if you are interested in applying for this exciting opportunity, please contact the Digital Training Supervisor - Sue Oliver in the Gloucestershire Constabulary Learning & Development department via the switchboard for any further information regarding the role - Ext 2381

Interviews will take place around the 18 October 2021.
