Gloucestershire Constabulary are recruiting an ICT Network Telephony Engineer with the below knowledge and experience. 

  • Cisco and Microsoft Voice and VoIP technologies (including Cisco Unified Communications Manager, Skype for Business and Microsoft Teams) to a CCNP Level.
  • Cisco and Microsoft collaboration technologies (including Cisco Webex, Microsoft Teams)
  • SIP and ISDN Gateway Technologies (including Sonus and Cisco CUBE).
  • Contact centre solutions (including UCCX).
  • Knowledge of telephony recording and reporting solutions (including NICE and Tiger).
  • Routing/Switching experience and knowledge to a CCNA level.
  • Quality of service.
  • Migration from traditional desk phone solutions, to workstation based collaboration clients for PSTN capabilities.
  • Knowledge of load balancing technologies.
  • Knowledge of web and email proxy solutions (including Cisco Ironport and Symantec Cloud).
  • Knowledge of network monitoring solutions (including Solarwinds).
  • Knowledge of data centre network solutions (including Cisco ACI/NXOS).
  • Knowledge of Cisco wireless solutions (including AireOS and IOSXE).
  • Knowledge of Cisco identity provider solutions (including Cisco ISE).

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual with a minimum of 5 years’ experience of supporting voice, telephony and VoIP solutions.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced technical team; installing, maintaining, upgrading and migrating network telephony services in line with defined practises and standards, ensuring acceptable levels of performance are maintained.  The successful candidate will report to the ICT Network Manager and will work closely with the Infrastructure, and Security teams to provide services to 2000 users.

The role requires good communication skills, the ability to liaise with others in the Constabulary to provide both technical support and advice. The candidate will be expected to work with others, including 3rd party vendors on delivering technical projects.

The role will be based at the Gloucestershire Police HQ which is just off junction 12 of the M5 and offers benefits including Local Government Pension, flexible working within core hours, free parking, on-site gym, canteen and many active Sports and Social Clubs.

Candidates must be willing to undergo the relevant security vetting for this role and contribute to 24/7 Network on call rota.
