4174 Duty Planning Officer

We are currently looking to recruit  Full-time Planners to join our Duty Planning team, based in Gloucester at our Headquarters.

The candidate will need to be motivated and committed to meet the demands of a challenging role.  The candidate will require excellent communication skills and demonstrate resilience and initiative within a busy team, to meet day to day demands.   

The new team member will have multiple responsibilities but particularly:

• To deliver effective resource plans for operational policing to meet the complex needs of a variety of business areas.

• Maintain staffing levels for day to day policing activities, and for planned/spontaneous operations.

• Demonstrate strong communication skills to engage with departmental colleagues and supervisors.

• Accurately record data in appropriate Force IT systems to enable the production of effective resource plans.
• Act as a first point of contact for resource management enquiries.
• Support the maintenance of the organisational skill base.
• Produce reports and analysis to assist managers with future resourcing decisions.

Essential:

• Previous experience in a similar planning role with operational policing knowledge.

Desirable:

• Working knowledge of Working Time Directive, and relevant Police Regulations.
