This is an exciting role working within the Constabulary to support Officers, Staff and families requiring immediate non-medical care, advice, support and guidance. The introduction of this role recognises and reflects the importance that the Chief Constable places on the wellbeing and welfare of staff and has been introduced following feedback from frontline staff and officers.

The successful candidate will not only act as a welfare point of contact but as a liaison between Senior Leaders, HR, Staff Associations and Occupational Health. You will also be required to signpost Staff and Officers to specialist support services both internally and externally and develop links with other organisations which may be able to provide help and support to members of the Constabulary.

It is essential that you have at least 3 years relevant experience in (but not limited to) people welfare support and a good understanding of post trauma management, possibly gained within an emergency services or similar high risk environment. If you also have a qualification in this area, this would be desirable but you should not be discouraged from applying for this role if you do not. A commitment to CPD and knowledge of statutory, regulatory and where appropriate ethical code requirements would also be beneficial.
