Gloucestershire Constabulary are recruiting an ICT Network Engineer to support the Constabulary BAU and transformation project requirements. You will have a good understanding and hands-on experience of:

  • Routing and Switch to a CCNP Level (with Cisco DNA/DCNM deployment)
  • Cisco and Microsoft Voice and VoIP technologies (including Cisco Unified Call Manager and Skype For Business)
  • Cisco Wireless, Cisco Firewalls (including ASA and Firepower)
  • IPS (Cisco FTD), Checkpoint Firewalls (R80.10)
  • Kemp Load balancer
  • Cisco ISE (including a good understanding of NAC, EAP, Dot1x and MAB), Cisco Nexus (NXOS, FEX, VPC)
  • Dynamic routing protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP)
  • VPN (Site to Site, Remote Access and Anyconnect)
  • Solarwinds (NPM, NCM, IPAM)
  • Cisco Ironport (WSA, SMA)
  • Qos, NTP and Nessus Professional

We are looking for a highly motivated and proactive individual with a minimum of 2 years’ experience of supporting and enhancing ICT Networking.

This is an exciting opportunity to join an experienced technical team, installing and maintaining network services in line with defined practices and standards, ensuring acceptable levels of performance are maintained.  The successful candidate will report to the Network Service Manager and will work closely with the Infrastructure, and Security teams to provide services to over 2000 users.

The role requires good communication skills, the ability to liaise with others in the Constabulary to provide both technical support and advice. The candidate will be expected to work with others, including 3rd party vendors on delivering technical projects.

Experience and knowledge of adapting a network to support Office 365 and cloud technologies such as Azure and producing high and low level designs is also desirable.

The role will be based at the Gloucestershire Police HQ which is just off junction 12 of the M5 and offers, flexible working within core hours, free parking, on-site gym, canteen and many active Sports and Social Clubs.  

Candidates must be willing to undergo the relevant security vetting for this role and contribute to 24/7 Network on call rota. The on call remuneration is calculated on the quantity of individuals on the rota and is additional to the salary above.
