2026 - Chief Inspector Promotion Boards

Gloucestershire is a largely rural county with two large urban conurbations including the City of Gloucester and Cheltenham Spa.  We are home to two Royal Households and a number of significant events attracting national attention throughout the year, including the National Hunt Festival at Cheltenham Racecourse and the Royal International Air Tattoo in Fairford. There is a strong military presence in the county as well as an important Government footprint.

Gloucestershire Constabulary have recently launched a 2026 – 2030 strategic plan. Under the leadership of T/CC Maggie Blyth and DCC Katy Barrow-Grint, the plan will focus our efforts on four clear priorities: investigating crime, safer communities, an efficient organisation, and ethical leadership. The role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of transformative change: bringing tangible benefits to victims of crime, the wider public, and colleagues within the Constabulary.  

We are seeking candidates who have an ability to:
